Job Description:
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level Web Developer I to join the Web Services team in the Center for Instructional Technology & Training (CITT), a unit within UFIT - Academic Technology. The successful candidate will design and deliver accessible and engaging web interfaces.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida's innovative and inspirational community.
UFIT Web Services is seeking an individual that will contribute to the success of our team. The Web Developer I will be able to build and apply industry standards to create visually appealing web sites using HTML and CSS. Knowledge of ADA WCAG 2.1 compliance is preferred.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Self-motivated
- Ability to code and deploy appealing and engaging websites for staff and the diverse community UF serves using HTML, CSS, Pyhton, PhP and/or JavaScript.
- Develop web architecture for customers to ensure that the website communicates the desired message to its audience
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Knowledgeable of the web industry standards and ability to apply best practices to web development
- Strong customer services experience a must

Benefits
Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.
Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:
$53,000 - $55,000; commensurate based on education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an associate degree and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
- Strong understanding of developing website and web applications
- Experience using current operating system platforms and/or web content management system such as WordPress
- Firm understanding and able to implement and design websites in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript or other web application languages
- Attention to detail with solid customer service experience
