About the Role:

We're looking for a skilled and passionate Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide real-time interpretation services for K-12 students in a virtual classroom setting. As an essential bridge between students, teachers, peers, and support staff, you will ensure that deaf or hard-of-hearing students have equal access to education. Key Responsibilities:
Real-Time Interpretation: Provide live, accurate interpretation during virtual classes, meetings, and other school activities to help deaf or hard-of-hearing students actively participate in the learning process.

Facilitate Communication: Act as a communication facilitator, ensuring students can engage fully with both their peers and instructors in an online learning environment.

Collaborative Support: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to adapt lessons and create an inclusive, supportive learning experience for each student.

Support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Assist in helping students achieve their IEP goals, ensuring their educational needs are met through effective interpretation services.

Qualifications:
Certification: RID, NIC, or equivalent certification in Sign Language Interpretation is required.

Experience: Previous experience working with K-12 students is preferred but not mandatory.

Fluency in ASL: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential.

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using virtual platforms and remote interpreting tools to deliver high-quality services.
