**Job Title:** Sign Language Interpreter

**Location:** Remote (New York)

**Overview:**
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and support a student who is Deaf or hard of hearing in a virtual school environment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating effective communication and ensuring the student has access to educational content that meets their individual needs.

**Responsibilities:**

- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) during live virtual classes and events.
- Facilitate communication between educators and Deaf or hard of hearing students.
- Collaborate with teachers to understand lesson plans and adapt to student needs.
- Stay updated on educational practices and technologies used in virtual learning.

**Qualifications:**

- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- A minimum of 1+ years of interpreting experience is required.
- Experience in educational settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication access needs.
- Proficiency in technology platforms utilized for virtual learning.
- Flexibility to work with diverse student populations and varying schedules.
