General Description:
The User Spaces Coordinator provides access to user spaces and supports outreach and
student engagement initiatives at the Paul V. Galvin Library. Responsibilities include
opening the building in the morning, coordinating spaces for activities and events,
assisting with student engagement programming and event planning, managing digital and
physical signage, and engaging the Illinois Tech community through social media and other
library communications.

Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree or college coursework, preferably in library information science
related fields, or equivalent experience. 1-2 years of experience in a library setting,
customer service experience, proven success in a service and/or academic setting
preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Skills in organizing and coordinating events and activities, including scheduling and promoting
events. Proficiency in using social media to engage with the community and promote events and
services. Ability to manage library signages and displays, ensuring they are up-to-date and
effectively communicate necessary information. Strong communication skills to interact with librarystaff, patrons, and the campus community. Ability to work collaboratively with library staff andcampus stakeholders. A commitment to providing services to a diverse user population. Keen
attention to detail for managing various aspects of library operations, from facility readiness to
event coordination. Competence in inspecting library spaces, addressing issues like spills and leaks. Effective time management skills to manage projects and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
