An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Estate Manager to oversee a portfolio of private residences along California's stunning coastline, including luxurious estates and off-the-grid rural properties. This role is perfect for a proactive, resourceful leader who can seamlessly manage the day-to-day operations while driving large-scale projects to completion. The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter who thrives in dynamic, evolving environments, with a proven ability to create and implement efficient systems.
Property & Staff Management: Oversee staff and daily household operations across multiple properties, including managing teams at both luxury estates and extremely rural locations.
Project Management: Lead large-scale projects from inception to completion while effectively managing ongoing daily operations. Demonstrate top-level time management and the ability to balance multiple priorities seamlessly.
System & Process Implementation: Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and ensure consistency across all properties. Comfort with creating new systems in a growing environment is essential.
Vendor & Maintenance Oversight: Manage vendor relationships and coordinate property maintenance, including renovations and upkeep of specialized systems (e.g., wells, solar energy). While not directly handling these systems, you will supervise their care and step in if the Head of Maintenance is unavailable.
Logistics & Travel: Travel between properties to oversee projects, events, and ongoing maintenance needs. Comfort with driving dirt roads and navigating rural environments is required.
Anticipate Principal Needs: Proactively anticipate the needs of the principals, ensuring seamless and exceptional experiences. Adapt to evolving preferences and provide high-touch service.
Team Leadership & Culture Building: Foster a collaborative and sustainable team environment aligned with the family's values of professionalism, service, and sustainability. Provide mentorship to team members and ensure continuous growth and improvement.
Event Coordination: Plan and execute events and gatherings, both intimate and large-scale, while managing all logistics to ensure flawless execution.
Tech-Savvy Operations: Leverage modern household and business technologies to optimize operations and maintain efficiency. Ensure that the properties are equipped with the latest systems for convenience and security.
Proactive Self-Starter: Eager, natural self-starter with a "no hesitation" mindset, comfortable working in a startup-like, fast-paced environment where flexibility and adaptability are key.
Project Flow & Time Management Mastery: Ability to manage the flow of large projects while effectively balancing day-to-day tasks. Top-level time management skills are a must.
SOP Creation & Implementation: Strong experience with developing and implementing processes to optimize operations. Comfort with refining systems in a growing environment is highly valued.
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Proven experience in property or hospitality management with strong leadership abilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals, from ranchers to high-profile vendors.
Problem Solver: Proactive, resourceful, and able to foresee potential issues before they arise. A talent for solving problems with creativity and efficiency.
Discretion & Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using technology to enhance estate management operations. Familiarity with project management tools and modern household technologies is preferred.
Salary Range: Starting at $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and other perks.
Work Hours: This role requires flexibility, including occasional weekend and evening availability as needed.
This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to lead and innovate within a close-knit family team that values trust, excellence, and continuous growth.
