Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled virtual sign language interpreter to assist a Kindergarten student during their online learning sessions. As a key member of the support team, you will play an essential role in facilitating communication between the student and their teacher, helping to create an inclusive and effective educational experience.

Student's Learning Schedule:

Geometry: 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM
English Language Arts (ELA): 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM
Intervention (Time TBD): Approximately 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (30-minute session)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation during all scheduled classes and intervention sessions.
Foster a supportive, engaging, and positive learning environment to ensure the student's success.
Collaborate with the student's teacher and support staff to enhance communication effectiveness and ensure educational goals are met.
Be flexible and adaptable to the student's evolving needs and any changes in the schedule.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or another relevant sign language.
For candidates based in Oklahoma: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and registration with the Oklahoma Interpreter Registry.
Previous experience working with children, particularly in educational settings, is highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage young learners and effectively interpret in real-time.
Reliable internet connection and familiarity with virtual communication tools such as video conferencing platforms.
