THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be involved in the statewide viral hepatitis elimination planning activities, including coalition building, implementation planning, assessment of needs, administration of stakeholder engagement, as well as training and conference planning. You will specifically assist in developing viral hepatitis elimination plans and implementation strategies. You will also assist with partner engagement via coalition building. This work involves internal and external stakeholder management and meeting organizing. You will assist with cataloging and maintaining up-to-date information and resources for public health education in this program area, and may present educational materials to groups on various aspects of the program. In addition, you will develop data collection methods and analyze data to report program activities and adherence to grant metrics and deadlines.


As part of viral hepatitis elimination planning, you will collaborate with DOH employees; federal, state, and local health agencies; constituent groups and service providers; community organizations and groups; and task forces, coalitions, and committees to initiate problem-solving strategies, resolve program problems, provide technical assistance, and promote viral hepatitis elimination program activities. Additionally, you will assist epidemiologists in the administration of a public health program by performing staff work for a variety of functions involving different components or an entire specific component of a public health program requiring prevention and disease management strategies of viral hepatitis to targeted population groups, including healthcare providers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
