Fred Hutch Cancer Center has a 5-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position available through the Cancer Prevention Program within the Public Health Sciences Division. The position will work under the direction of Dr. Salene Jones. Dr. Jones' research aims to use psychometrics and measurement science to better assess financial hardship and other social determinants of health (SDOH) primarily in medical populations and within the context of disease prevention. This research program focuses on people with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers and people with cancer including hematologic malignancies. Her work includes the use of item response theory, sometimes called modern psychometrics, to create novel methods of assessing financial hardship and other SDOHs in a way to move science and clinical care forward. Dr. Jones research combines the social and behavioral sciences with health services research and public health.
The postdoctoral fellow's duties will include supporting study operations, interacting with study participants, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and disseminating results. They will work closely with Dr. Jones, co-investigators, the project manager and the project coordinator. The position will primarily support a project developing financial hardship screening measures in Alzheimer's disease but will also support projects on financial hardship in cancer. Note, this is a hybrid position meaning that some work must be performed onsite at Fred Hutch's South Lake Union campus. Some work can be performed remotely.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $67,728 to $140,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
