Position Summary

This position is a professional position responsible for working collaboratively with regional behavior analyst as well as with other APD staff and providers. Responsible for working in an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fashion within the construct of the regional structure. This includes, but is not limited to, regional behavioral analysts, state office staff, regional staff, contracted providers, and other community providers/stakeholders.

 

The Work You Will Do  

  • Provides technical assistance to Medicaid Waiver support coordinators, APD NW region staff, ADT and group home staff, regarding effective behavioral intervention, laws, rules and procedures for working with Agency for Persons with Disabilities consumers.
  • Participates in consumer staffing for health and safety concerns, and residential planning.
  • Reviews, make recommendations and completes report related to crisis waiver enrollment requests to include completing a documentation review, making phone calls, gathering information, and scheduling visits as needed. Preparing a report that includes justification for approval or details related to why denied within seven (7) calendar days of request from Agency delegated staff.
  • Collect required documents for the Behavior Analysis Services Eligibility, reports every six months and or every twelve months. Provide required documents to the regional behavioral analyst to complete the Behavior Analysis Services Eligibility report.
  • Assist the regional behavioral analyst with disseminating Behavior Analysis Services Eligibility reports to required parties. Assist the regional behavioral analyst with collecting required documentation for annual designation of Behavior Focus and Intensive Behavior group homes in the Northwest Region.
  • Completes annual medical necessity reviews for consumers receiving behavior analysis services in NW1. Provides follow-up on abuse report, and behavior related incident reports for consumers residing in NW1.
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing, education, or a social, behavioral or rehabilitative science.
  • An associate's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing, education, or a social, behavioral or rehabilitative science and two years of experience involving the application of behavior modification principles.
  • Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • Valid driver’s license or other efficient means of transportation to travel for required work purposes.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
