Your ability to write clearly and professionally is very important. Familiarity with the use of GPS units (Trimble) and tablets (Collector) will be essential. Your keen awareness for workplace safety in remote and urban conditions and within active transportation corridors is expected, as is a willingness to work independently or with limited supervision when conditions are appropriate.

Bachelors in Anthropology or Archaeology with a graduate degree in a relatable field; or a Masters in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a relatable field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

Previous experience as a crew chief or field director.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in Idaho, Oregon, or Washington.

  • At least 8 years of field experience in archaeological survey and excavation.

  • Additional experience in historical archaeology, lithic analysis, faunal analysis, ethnography, GIS, and/or osteology.
