Job Description

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Manager at The Sheraton Palo Alto will oversee and manage all aspects of the Housekeeping Department to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for guests. This is a full-time, salaried management position in the hospitality/restaurant industry located in Palo Alto, California. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the housekeeping department, including the supervision of a team of housekeeping staff.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all guest rooms and public areas.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
  • Create and maintain housekeeping schedules and arrange appropriate coverage for high occupancy periods.
  • Order and maintain inventory of all housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Train, motivate, and supervise all housekeeping staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure guest needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and manage housekeeping budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
  • Respond to guest concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Executive Director, and/or General Manager.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a management role.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and techniques, as well as industry standards for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff (must be bilingual/fluent in Spanish), guests, and other departments .
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
