This role will lead a team of solution architects that deliver the following:
• Define, expand, and explore the design space for complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems
• Identify and analyze the cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale
• Break down and frame problems using con-ops, use cases, structural/functional decompositions, and other system representations to clarify needs and align technical teams
• Identify design choices to ensure our products are safe, reliable, and usable, and can be deployed and supported at Amazon scale
• Build quantitative models and analyses (Excel, MATLAB, Python, internal tools) to conduct trade studies, refine requirements, and understand key system drivers across the integrated systems of systems
• Perform technical risk assessments (such as TRL, Gap Analysis, FMEDA, HARA, etc.), devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies
• Develop documents that effectively communicate and system level solutions with trade-offs, risks and recommendations.
• Build core team and mentor engineers in engineering best practices, and participate in hiring of new team member
