Prevailing Faith Christian Academy in Monroe, LA is looking for one bus monitor to join our team. We are located on 1111 Plaza Blvd.. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.

Assist teachers in all aspects of classroom supervision/instruction and also perform the duties of a Bus Driver if qualified. Responsible for transporting children to and from the center daily and for the supervision of all passengers on the bus (children, parents and staff).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Seat students safely using need seat belts, car seats or wheel chair restraints, etc.
• Seat students safely using need seat belts, and if applicable wheel chair restraints, etc.
• Enroll in CDL training classes.
• Assist children on bus.
• maintain records of Pre and post inspection of school bus.
• Assist bus driver with the cleanliness of the inside of the bus.
• Monitor children on bus, buckle children in, obtain CDL to drive bus.
• Monitor the kids throughout the ride for any signs, as having an episode or having any type of problem.
• Train to provide child supervision skills, conflict management with parents, and basic trauma/natural disaster training including CPR certification.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assign station and service areas.
• Help teachers to prepare for departure including; putting on coats and assuring that each child have his/her own belongings.
• Help teachers to prepare the departure, including putting on coats, assuring that all the children have their belongings.

Qualifications

• Child development: 2 years (Not Required)
• Ability to interact physically with young children including but not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, stretching, running and squatting.
