Job Description

The Bakery Assistant will help in the preparation of baked goods, maintain cleanliness in the work area, and sometimes interact with customers.

Daily duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assist the Baker in mixing and baking ingredients according to recipes
• Manage baking times to produce baked goods at a consistent quality
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bakery area and equipment
• Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, notifying the Baker when supplies are low
• Help in decorating cakes, breads, and pastries
• Package baked goods for sale
• Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers and answering their queries when needed.
• Comply with food sanitation and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bakery Assistant or similar role in the food industry preferred
• Knowledge of baking techniques a plus
• Good understanding of food safety procedures
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items when and if needed
