About the Role:
We are excited to announce an opening for a tenure-track position in Cinematic Arts, beginning in August 2024. We seek a dynamic and innovative educator to join our team, focusing on teaching courses in production and post-production within the Cinematic Arts program. The successful candidate will be passionate about engaging students, embracing new technologies, and collaborating across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach a full load of Cinematic Arts courses each semester.
Develop and deliver engaging course materials and provide effective instruction to a diverse student body.
Maintain an active program of scholarly work and contribute to departmental and institutional service.
Hold regular office hours and offer academic advising to students.
Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and other service activities.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies relevant to your teaching area.
Foster a supportive and respectful classroom environment, encouraging diverse perspectives and ideas.
Serve as a Christian role model to students and contribute to the community through both formal and informal interactions.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or M.F.A. in Cinematic Arts, Film/TV/Radio Production, or a related field. Other graduate degrees may be considered for non-tenure track appointments.
Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level, with expertise in courses such as editing, cinematography, documentary, directing, producing, audio recording, sound design, and motion graphics/VFX/Unreal.
Evidence of professional production and scholarly work through presentations and published projects.
Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and working with a diverse student population.
Experience in remote, hybrid, and in-person instruction is preferred.
A personal commitment to Christian faith and an understanding of how faith informs teaching and scholarship.

Salary and Rank:
The position is anticipated at the Assistant Professor level, though candidates with substantial experience may be considered for Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive.
